Luchadores Rally to Nose Past El Paso
El Paso got a terrific game from right fielder Carlos Ayala. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Mexico City, 7-6, in 10 innings. Ayala went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The 5th-place Luchadores improved to 46-54.

Mexico City needed the clutch hitting of Rich Van Fleet to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Luchadores on top, 7-6. For the game, Van Fleet had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Tewolde Ojo, the Mexico City skipper.
