Boulders Drop Another One
|
The Southern Illinois Miners trumped the New York Boulders, 7-4, at Ballpark of Indianapolis. Southern Illinois shortstop Donovan Mitchell was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. Zach Brooks got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The Miners, now 4-2, have been playing some good baseball.
Southern Illinois used a timely hit from Jaiden Scott to get the win. The left fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Miners on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Mitchell told the Southern Illinois Times.
