Leeney Excels, Antioch Wins Triple A League Championship Game 1
The Antioch Coal Miners started the Triple A League Championship in style, downing the visiting Pasadena Bumblebees at The Coal Mine by a score of 8-7 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Coal Miners left fielder Junior Leeney went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4.

Oscar Vivar's at-bat in the bottom of the third inning was a big one for Antioch. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Antioch trailing 3-0, the left fielder hit a run-scoring single.

"We ground out the win," said Leeney. "That's all that matters."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Coal Mine in Antioch.
