The Carrollton Rangers licked the Frobisher Bay Caribou, 5-4. Yong-chik Byun deserved a big chunk of the credit. The designated hitter was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Rangers. The Rangers move to 71-60 with the win, while the Caribou drop to 98-33.
In the bottom of the 5th, Carrollton took the lead on a 2-run single by Jose de Hoyos. At the time, the Rangers were trailing 4-3, but de Hoyos's hit with two outs against Frobisher Bay pitcher Kunimichi Kawakami put them in front, 5-4.
Byun attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
