Wichita Dealt 8-5 Defeat
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Thunder Bay fans at Lightning Grove.

The Thunder Bay Lighting defeated the Wichita Storm, 8-5. Doing his part was left fielder Alfredo Javier, who was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. Jorge Chaparro, the winner, goes to 7-2. He allowed 4 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

The Lighting got a big boost from shortstop Juan Rodriques who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Storm hurler Bobby Zuniga. It was his 33rd walk of the season and put Thunder Bay on top, 1-0.

"Everybody is chipping in right now," said Javier. "That's what makes it so much fun."

Thunder Bay has now won 8 straight, while the Storm have lost 3 in a row.
