The exploits of left fielder Bobby Shaw, who is a two-time All-Star, helped the Pennsylvania Butterflies defeat the Maple Marauders, 6-2. Shaw went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Trace Yeadon. His record now stands at 7-9. The right-hander went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits for the Butterflies. Pennsylvania has now won 4 games in a row.

The Butterflies got a big at-bat from center fielder Jeff Yurick. For the game, Yurick went 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 19th double of the season gave Pennsylvania a 2-1 lead.
