Havana Loss Diminishes Hamamoto Performance
The home crowd had a good time watching the Havana Stogies and Mexico City Luchadores get after it.

Despite a great performance by Havana third baseman Yodo Hamamoto, the Mexico City Luchadores defeated the Stogies by the score of 8-5 at The Royal Grounds. Hamamoto was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The winner in relief was Alberto Candelaria. He is now 5-7. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. Ray Heck closed the door for Mexico City, picking up his 18th save of the year.

Dan Stowers, who is tied for 4th in the RCL in home runs with 19, took Havana hurler Sam Del Grosso deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Luchadores on top, 4-3. In all, Stowers had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 5.

"I felt good up there," said Stowers. "I saw the ball well."

Mexico City now sits at 42-47, while Havana falls to 44-46.
