5 Hits for Alpines Camacho
Tuesday, May 13th , 2064
The Saint John Alpines stopped the Victoria Cougars by a score of 16-9 at Cougars Park, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Luis Camacho. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Camacho said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Camacho did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Cougars.
"Not much that I can say," offered Victoria manager Tony Varela. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Luis Camacho hit a two-run home run off Hugo Cortes in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Etana Turagabea in the 6th.
This season in 30 games, Camacho is batting .375 with 8 home runs, 30 RBIs and has scored 31 times.
