Yuma's Maher Will Miss Season
Wednesday, October 8th , 2064
The doctors have spoken and Josh Maher of the Yuma Varmits didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Maher sustained his season-ending injury during the Montreal Cardinals game yesterday at Denis Coderre Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Yuma medical staff reported Maher had a torn meniscus and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months.
Maher has fashioned a 2-0 mark for the season, 1.50 ERA and thrown 24 innings in 0 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .190 against him.
