Pirates Star Wins Cy Young Award

Kyle Phillips walked away with the top pitching honors in the TML R this year. The Paradise Island Pirates starter was named the Cy Young Award winner for 2063 earlier today.

This outstanding 22-year-old hurler fashioned a fine 10-2 won-lost record in 17 starts. He threw 120.2 innings, giving up 93 hits and 19 walks and holding opponents to a .206 average. Phillips struck out 199 and posted a 2.16 ERA.

He received 25 first place votes out of a possible 28. John Miller of the Oconto Falls Timbers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Nate Scott of the Oconto Falls Timbers finished third.
