Islanders, Viera Stonewall Carrollton, 5-0
Sunday, September 9th , 2063
The Carrollton Rangers were almost helpless in their 5-0 loss to the Coronado Islanders and hurler Edwin Viera. Viera kept the Rangers confused all game, spinning a 2-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Viera," Carrollton manager Hung-chang Chao said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 19-year-old right-hander had 3 walks and 17 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Viera said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
