Hale Swats 3 Homers Wednesday, August 29th , 2063 His swing was a thing of beauty. Three times Mike Hale swung the bat and three times he delivered a home run. It was an awesome sight to behold at Scottsdale Stadium, but to no avail, for as good as he was, the Scottsdale Scorpions were better. The Frobisher Bay Caribou couldn't capitalize on the big game from Hale and dropped the contest, 6-5. The mood in the Caribou clubhouse afterward was subdued, with several players remarking that they had allowed the Scorpions to spoil the day for Hale. "Some of the boys are beating themselves up about it," Frobisher Bay manager Lao Lo said. "They know we win as a team and lose as a team, but it's hard to really put that idea into practice on a day when one of you was playing on such an obviously higher level." In addition to the homers, Hale collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," the Frobisher Bay left fielder told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow I could just pop the same pitches up and go 0-for-3." Mike Hale hit a two-run home run off Victor Reyes in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Victor Reyes in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Vincent Galindo in the 7th. Currently Hale is hitting .376 and has collected 12 home runs, 44 RBIs and scored 35 times, while playing in 43 games. |
