Anderson Hits for Cycle Against Montreal
Tuesday, July 25th , 2062
Requiring speed, power, and regular contact, the cycle is often seen as a test of a complete hitter. For Chris Anderson, consider that test passed.
The 18-year-old first baseman hit for the cycle at Denis Coderre Stadium, to help the Savannah Peaches triumph, 8-2, over the Montreal Cardinals. All told, Anderson delivered 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 4 RBI and 3 runs scored.
"It feels good of course, but I'm not going to kid anyone -- there's a lot of luck in hitting for the cycle," he said after the game. "Several unique things have to come together all in the same game."
Chris Anderson flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run triple in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Andy Garcia in the 8th.
This year, Anderson is batting .291 with 6 home runs.
