3-HR Day for Marquez Sunday, July 23rd , 2062 Antonio Marquez went yard three times in a Thunder Bay Lighting victory over the Rockville Rangers at Lightning Grove. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Thunder Bay catcher went 3-for-4 against Rockville with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Lighting to the 9-2 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Antonio Marquez hit a three-run home run off Frank Medina in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Frank Medina in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ernesto Nido in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. For the year, Marquez is batting .281 with 9 home runs. |
