No Playoff Berth Coming for Kearny High Saturday, May 20th , 2062 The Kearny High Cardinals players and coaches held a closed-door meeting today after the club was eliminated from postseason contention. "We just wanted to talk about the season and where we are right now and how we get to our ultimate goal," said a dejected Nate Fender. "We don't want to have this feeling next season." The Cardinals have made the playoffs 7 times in their 33 years as a LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 5th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2057. In the last 10 seasons, the Cardinals have missed the playoffs 7 times. Kearny High has won the Little League World Series 2 times in their history. |
