Postseason Bid Ends for Derby

A late-season playoff push is not in the cards for the Derby Panthers. The club today was mathematically knocked out of playoff contention.
"There are a lot of long faces around right now," said Panthers manager Andy Grant. "You know in your head that every year, most teams in baseball have to go through this, but it still hurts when you realize you've lost your shot at a title."
This is the club's 2nd playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2059. In total, the Panthers have missed the playoffs 28 times in their 32-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Panthers have made the playoffs 4 times.
