Contreras Blasts 3 out of the Park Tuesday, May 2nd , 2062 Some days you can't have it all, as Lerna Lions left fielder Ricky Contreras discovered when he cracked three homers against the Tenafly Tigers, and still lost. "I have mixed emotions about this game," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but it's hard to be happy when you lose the game." The 17-year-old got his name in the league record books, but the Tigers walked away with the triumph, 20-18, at Ballpark of León HS. Contreras finished the day with 3 hits in 5 at-bats and 8 RBIs. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," he said in the postgame interview. Ricky Contreras hit a three-run home run off Roberto Murrietta in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Javier de la Rosa in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Mike Cart in the 8th and walked in the 9th. So far this season, Contreras has 11 home runs and a .294 batting average. |
