Hit Streak Over, Warhawks Stop Carrozza Thursday, April 6th , 2062 The Jefferson Indians lost to the Seminole Warhawks, 12-5, at Ballpark of Monterrey HS, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Steve Carrozza's 21-game hitting streak. The right fielder went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Carrozza, we would win the game," Warhawks manager Parker Harder explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." So far this season, Carrozza has gotten 51 hits in 122 at-bats for a .418 batting average with 11 home runs. His stats include 41 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He has played in 28 games. |
