No Hits for Cyr, Streak Ends at 20 Wednesday, April 5th , 2062 Don Cyr came rolling into today's game against the Topeka West Chargers with a 20-game hitting string, but he left it on the field at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. The 15-year-old Montreal Cardinals right fielder went 0-for-2 against the Chargers as the Cardinals fell, 9-6. "I swung at a couple pitches I probably shouldn't have and I didn't swing at a couple I probably should have," he said, grimacing. "But that's what makes a hit streak so impressive in the first place -- it only takes a couple mistakes to end it all." For the season, Cyr is hitting at a .388 clip with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and has scored 26 runs. He has 38 hits, 25 walks and a .531 on-base percentage. |
