Caroleo Put in Cooler, Hitless Against LSU Saturday, May 6th , 2062 The 20-game hitting streak of Cal State Fullerton Titans shortstop Jim Caroleo came to an end at South Paris College Grounds. The LSU Tigers held him hitless in 1 at-bat and also sent the Titans down to defeat, 3-0. Later, Caroleo acknowledged to BNN reporters that the hit streak meant something to him. "It was special," he said, "but I think other people make a bigger deal out of it than I do, or the players do. It was what we're all supposed to do; go out and hit the ball and try to score runs. It was a cool deal, but it's over now. Let's try to start a new one." This season, Caroleo is swinging the bat at a .335 rate with 52 hits in 155 at-bats. To date he has hit 13 home runs, scored 46 runs and driven in 29. |
