Vidal, Lejeune Suspended for Fracas Friday, May 5th , 2062 After an intense confrontation, both the Demon Deacans Ivan Vidal and the Gamecocks Jérôme Lejeune were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Wake Forest-South Carolina game. Ivan Vidal will miss 4 games, while Jérôme Lejeune was suspended for 9 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Ivan Vidal commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." For the year, Vidal is batting .182 with 1 home run, 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored. This season, Lejeune has worked 27.1 innings with 22 strikeouts en route to a 0-3 record and a 7.90 ERA. |
