Thigpen Launches 3 HR for Seminoles Monday, May 1st , 2062 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Adrian Thigpen can celebrate. The Florida State Seminoles shortstop powered three into the stands at Canaries Ballpark against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Thigpen told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-5 as the Seminoles toppled Oklahoma State by a score of 11-6, knocking in 6 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Florida State manager Mike Conard said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Adrian Thigpen hit a solo-shot off Jason Kurz in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Justin LeBeouf in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jonathan Stone in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. For the year, Thigpen is hitting .252 with 11 home runs. His stats include 28 runs batted in and 26 runs scored. |
