Hernandez Cracks 5 Hits Sunday, April 30th , 2062 Long Beach State right fielder Willie Hernandez could do no wrong in his team's 13-1 win over the Horned Frogs, as he collected 5 hits. "Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Horned Frogs skipper Masato Takagi said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts." Hernandez agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game. "Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Willie Hernandez hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Benito Guerrero in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Benito Guerrero in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dan Juilfs in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
