Friday, April 28th , 2062
After an intense confrontation, both the Titans Jalen Rawls and the 49'ers Ray Billings were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Cal State Fullerton-Long Beach State game. Jalen Rawls will miss 5 games, while Ray Billings was suspended for 7 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Jalen Rawls commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
Thus far this season in 30 games, Rawls is batting .236 with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 25 hits in 106 at-bats.
In 7 starts this season, Billings has rung up a 4-0 record and a 2.18 ERA.
