Bennett Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games
Wednesday, April 19th , 2062
Win or lose, Kevin Bennett just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.
The Tennessee Volunteers second baseman went 1-for-5, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 13-10, by the Oklahoma Sooners at Biglerville College Fields.
"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Kevin Bennett grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, struck out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
This year, Bennett is batting .434 with 15 home runs and 40 RBIs.
