Andy Dunn Bashes Three over the Wall Sunday, April 16th , 2062 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Oklahoma left fielder Andy Dunn tripled up on the home runs to propel the Sooners to a win, 18-13, at Scandals Ballpark. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," South Carolina manager Addy de Zeeuw said. "Dunn hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Dunn collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Andy Dunn walked in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Steven Prendergast in the 5th, walked in a run in the 6th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Rich Wittman in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Dan Diehl in the 9th. On the year, Dunn has hit .315 with 12 home runs, 26 RBIs and scored 20 runs. |
