Hamilton Smashes 3 Homers for North Carolina

John Hamilton went yard three times in a North Carolina Tar Heels victory over the Auburn Tigers at Zodiac Ballpark.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the North Carolina third baseman went 3-for-4 against Auburn with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Tar Heels to the 6-5 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
John Hamilton hit a solo-shot off Dan Brown in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Josh Plancarte in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Eric Lowell in the 9th.
To date, Hamilton has collected 18 hits for a .316 average. He has posted 8 home runs, scored 16 runs and driven in 20 runs.
