Big Day with Bat: Griffith 5-for-5
Friday, March 31st , 2062
It was a good day for the Golden Eagles at Ballpark of Storm Lake College as they clipped the Washington State Cougars, 14-6. It was tremendous day for Paul Griffith, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-5.
"I don't know what to call that," the South Mississippi first baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."
Paul Griffith singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Quinn Mitchell in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
For the season, Griffith has hit .545 with 8 home runs and 27 RBIs. He has played in 12 games and scored 20 times.
