Tommy Ivester Bashes Three over the Wall Wednesday, March 22nd , 2062 Alabama Crimson Tide first baseman Tommy Ivester put on a dazzling display of power at Gremlins Ballpark against the Miami Hurricanes. In the 29-23 Crimson Tide victory, Ivester penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Miami manager Jody Farley said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 21-year-old had 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 8 RBIs and 6 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Ivester said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Tommy Ivester hit a two-run home run off Pat Godfrey in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Chris Sullivan in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Kenny Chapman in the 6th. |
