Salinas's Season Could be Over
Tuesday, September 30th , 2064
The doctors have spoken and Alejandro Salinas of the Charleston Panthers didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Salinas sustained his season-ending injury during the Okanagan Lake Monsters game yesterday at Franklin Mountains Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Charleston medical staff reported Salinas had a damaged elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 11 months.
This season, Salinas has been credited with no saves. In 17 relief appearances and 55.1 innings he has a 2-4 won-lost mark, a 3.90 ERA and 65 strikeouts.
