Doctors in St. Petersburg said Miguel Sandoval might not play anymore this year. The Pelicans second baseman suffered a broken kneecap during a game against the Brownsville Bandits and will be out for at least 5-6 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.
So far this season, Sandoval is batting .194 with 11 home runs, 40 RBIs and 54 runs scored. He has 97 hits in 501 at-bats, 57 walks and a .301 OBP. Sandoval has played in 137 games.
