Valdez on Fire: Burns Brownsville with 3 HR Monday, October 1st , 2063 Alejandro Valdez went yard three times in a Moose Jaw Warriors victory over the Brownsville Bandits at The Nut House. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Moose Jaw left fielder went 3-for-5 against Brownsville with 7 RBIs and 4 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Warriors to the 19-4 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Alejandro Valdez hit a solo-shot off Steve Surprenant in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Victor Delgado in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Steve Cox in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. In 67 games Valdez is hitting .286 this season with 50 hits, 17 home runs, 46 RBIs, 42 walks, .429 OBP and has scored 45 runs. |
