Star of the Week Awarded in TA Monday, September 17th , 2063 Carmel fans have something to crow about today as Carmel first baseman Rich Van Winkle nabbed the TML A Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Van Winkle. He posted a .588 average (10-for-17) this past week with 4 home runs, 8 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. This season, Van Winkle has 32 home runs and a .318 batting average. |
