Rowdy Players Suspended by League Tuesday, April 25th , 2062 Yesterday at Woodland Park Drew Cooper and Danny Ros got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Moonbeam Martians and Houston Sting. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Cooper will have to sit out 5 while Ros would be given a 3-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. A look at his current stats shows Cooper with a .349 average, 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has played in 19 games. |
