Canucks Navarro and Mountaineers Grunza Suspended for Fight
Tuesday, October 4th , 2061
After an intense confrontation, both the Canucks Felipe Navarro and the Mountaineers Matt Grunza were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Moose Jaw-Black Mountain game. Felipe Navarro will miss 4 games, while Matt Grunza was suspended for 8 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Felipe Navarro commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
This year, Navarro is hitting at a .265 pace with 11 home runs and 37 RBIs. He has played in 47 games and scored 36 times.
So far this season, Grunza has put up these stats: 20 relief appearances, 13 saves, 19 IP, 17 strikeouts, and 2.37 ERA. His won-lost record is 1-1, and the opposition is hitting .278 against him.
