5-Hit Game for Carpenter Saturday, August 19th, 2023 All game long Buzzard's Bay's Kelly Carpenter was rattling the walls at Outlander Park and banging out base hits against the Frisco Rams. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Beetlecats had a 12-8 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 25-year-old catcher said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Kelly Carpenter singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In 109 games this season Carpenter has compiled a .288 batting average with 135 hits and 4 home runs. He has also scored 64 times and knocked in 71 runs. |
