Rivero Swats 3 HR Against Boston Monday, June 2nd , 2064 Kelowna Rockets left fielder Bruce Rivero put on a dazzling display of power at The Studio against the Boston Whitecaps. In the 9-7 Rockets victory, Rivero penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Boston manager T.J. Hall said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 19-year-old had 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Rivero said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Bruce Rivero hit a solo-shot off Danny Arias in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Danny Arias in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Terry Hahn in the 9th. In 27 games this season, Rivero has batted at a .345 pace with 30 hits and 6 home runs. |
