Hicks Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Tuesday, May 20th , 2064
With 1 hit at FUBU Field, Jeffrey Hicks added another game to his hitting streak -- the Niagara Falls shortstop has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Pipe Fitters, as they fell, 10-4, to the Evanston Bishops.
"Frankly, I don't care about hits," Evanston manager Harold Planter said later. "I'll let him get 5 hits in 5 at-bats if it means we get a win." Jeffrey Hicks flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season, Hicks is batting .347 with 2 home runs. His totals include 15 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
