Marysville Snaps Weier Streak at 22
Thursday, July 26th , 2063
The Marysville Monarchs pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting Marvin Weier hitless in 1 at-bat during the club's 7-3 victory over the Moose Jaw Canucks at Ashton Gate. The disappointing performance ended a 22-game hitting streak for the first baseman.
"I'm a little down right now," Weier said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too."
This season, Weier has banged out 113 hits in 301 at-bats for a .375 average with 17 home runs. He is getting on base at a .475 pace and his totals also include 64 RBIs and 74 runs scored.
