Antioch Wins Divisional Series
Saturday, October 18th , 2064
The Antioch Coal Miners didn't hold back their excitement after beating the Amarillo Armadillos in the Divisional Series tonight.
Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 6-1 win moving the club on to the League Championship Series, clinching a 4-2 series win in front of the The Coal Mine crowd.
"This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a League Championship Series, so it's an important step," said Chris Bridgeman as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on."
Bridgeman was named series MVP, as he hit .500 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 5 runs.
On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Armadillos sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Antioch celebrate.
The Antioch Coal Miners don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Thunder Bay Black Bears - Calgary Hitmen series. Calgary leads the series 3 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
