Black Bears Gillen Lost for Year Friday, June 6th , 2064 The Thunder Bay Black Bears and their fans were rocked today by the news that star reliever Justin Gillen would miss the rest of the season due to injury. Gillen was hurt in a recent game against the Minneapolis Freeze while throwing a pitch. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was shoulder inflammation. His doctors think that Gillen will miss about 7-8 months. So far this season, Gillen has picked up no saves in 10 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 1-3 won-lost mark with a 11.57 ERA and fanned 9 batters in 7 innings. |
