Memphis Loses Mike Mardis, Will Miss Season
Monday, June 2nd , 2064
The doctors have spoken and Mike Mardis of the Memphis Privateers didn't like what he heard. The 33-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Mardis sustained his season-ending injury during the Calgary Hitmen game yesterday at Mckinley Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Memphis medical staff reported Mardis had a stretched elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12 months.
This year, Mardis has posted a record of no wins and 2 losses with a 5.94 ERA. He has appeared in 11 games and struck out 23 in 33.1 innings.
