Weiss Shackles Pasadena
Tuesday, September 11th , 2063
Jason Weiss of the Cozumel Beaches was on top of his game.
The 35-year-old tantalized the Pasadena Bumblebees with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 3-0.
"He had the changeup working," Pasadena manager David Williams said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Cozumel hurler had 6 strikeouts, gave up 2 walks and surrendered 2 hits in his complete-game effort.
Weiss told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."
"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.
