League Suspends Thambo and Duran for Fisticuffs Wednesday, August 15th , 2063 Yesterday at Coca Cola Stadium Ross Thambo and Alex Duran got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Baton Rouge Outlaws and Calgary Hitmen. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Thambo will have to sit out 2 while Duran would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This season, Thambo is hitting .340 with 65 hits, 8 home runs, 33 RBIs, scored 26 runs and played in 59 games. This year, Duran has gone 12-8 with an ERA of 4.50 and has 96 strikeouts in 160 innings. |
