Season-Ending Injury for Isaiah Springfield
Friday, July 6th , 2063
Baton Rouge starting pitcher Isaiah Springfield could miss the remainder of the season because of a fractured elbow. He exited yesterday's Peoria game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Springfield would be out 4-5 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
This year, Springfield has worked 92.2 innings with 84 strikeouts en route to a 6-3 record and 3.79 ERA.
