Hoekstra 5-for-5 for Fireballs Saturday, July 29th , 2062 Bret Hoekstra of the Joplin Fireballs outhit everybody on the field at Golden Fleece Park, but it was all for naught. Even as Hoekstra personally tore up the Astoria Argonauts with a 5-for-5 day, the Argonauts were sending his Fireballs down to defeat, 7-6. Bret Hoekstra doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season, Hoekstra is hitting .299 with 11 home runs.
