Cornelius Goes Long 3 Times
Friday, April 14th , 2062
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Brian Cornelius can celebrate.
The Anchorage Moose left fielder powered three into the stands at Moose's Tooth Field against the Peoria Caterpillars.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Cornelius told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 4-for-4 as the Moose toppled Peoria by a score of 11-6, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 4 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Anchorage manager Ken Merrick said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Brian Cornelius hit a two-run home run off Alex Jimenez in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Alex Jimenez in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ciro Della Volpe in the 5th, singled in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
Currently Cornelius is batting .425 with 17 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 12 runs and scored 12 times.
