Calgary Sweeps into the Triple A World Series
Monday, October 10th , 2061
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the RCL AAA Triple A League Championship. It turned out quite a bit different.
The Calgary Cowboys swept aside the Baton Rouge Outlaws to advance to the Triple A World Series, winning the final game by a 8-1 score at Coca Cola Stadium.
The series MVP was right fielder Corey Atherton, who hit .357 with a .471 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The Calgary Cowboys don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Pasadena Bumblebees - Antioch Coal Miners series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Triple A World Series schedule will be announced after the Triple A League Championship finishes.
