The San Francisco Earthquakes fell to the Jacksonville Pilots in Golden Gate Park, even as 25-year-old left fielder Mitchell Williams upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25 games. Williams finished with 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Earthquakes from dropping the 6-5 decision.

"Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Williams.
Mitchell Williams struck out in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.

So far this season, Williams has gotten 54 hits in 161 at-bats for a .335 batting average with 6 home runs. His stats include 27 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 42 games.
