Saturday, May 21st , 2061
As soon as the first ball went over the fence, everyone at Magnificent Marauders Mansion knew it -- Luis Garza was in a groove. Fans showered the uber-popular Garza with applause each time he came to the plate, and he rewarded them right back, finishing with a trio of home runs to help the Maple Marauders top the visiting Manhattan Slice, 14-6.
"It was one of the better days in my baseball career," Garza said later. "I was on cloud nine out there and I think everyone was enjoying it."
Along with his three home runs, the 25-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"They always love it when Luis goes to the plate," Maple manager Daniel Dillon said of the club's fan base. "But today was something else entirely."
Luis Garza walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Lesmana Susanti in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Bill Buckhannon in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jose Perez in the 8th.
This year, Garza is batting .281 with 48 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 20 times and has batted in 38 runs.
